Kulim Hi-Tech Park (KHTP): Ripe For Career Boost

Category : News

Tuesday, 7 June 2011

Companies in Kulim Hi-Tech Park are busy ramping up their production lines at the back of increasing orders from their parent companies or customers. This trend has been continuing from the beginning of 2011 and is expected to persist in spite of declining first quarter 2011 PC shipments, relative PC market saturation and an increasing conservative economic outlook.

The job hiring spikes is also attributed to the addition of new business lines at various companies to cater to new markets. At the last count, there were altogether more than 200 openings for engineers and 120 openings for technicians by 10 companies. For example, Fuji Electric Semiconductor is busy hiring engineers and technicians to work in their new wafer fab and media lines. So is Celestica who has been on active hiring mode since receiving staggering orders from their principal who is in the avionics or aerospace industry. First Solar who has 6 thin-film module manufacturing plants in the park, stepped up their hiring efforts and has already had a big workforce of 3,400 recently.
