Kulim Technology Park Corporation-Politeknik Tuanku Sultanah Bahiyah To Collaborate

Category : News

Mr Muhamad Sobri Osman, the President, Kulim Technology Park Corporation (KTPC) said that Kulim Hi-Tech Park (KHTP) industrial land bank would be enlarged in the near-term to accommodate more new high-tech tenants, as well as, to provide more industrial space for the operational expansion of KTPC’s present tenants.

Speaking at the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) event between Politeknik Tuanku Sultanah Bahiyah (PTSB) and 4 private companies, Mr Muhamad Sobri said that the present high demand for skilled and semi-skilled workers in KHTP is expected to increase tremendously when more companies take up space in KHTP. This, he added, would put pressure on tertiary institutions to supply the right kind of graduates or non-graduates with sufficient real-life technical skills exposure to meet the high expectations of the industrial tenants in KHTP.

Mr Muhamad Sobri also lauded PTSB for their smart and timely strategy in engaging with the KHTP high-tech companies to find out the right subject areas that could offer the highest job demands by the tenants in KHTP, so that their graduates would easily find job placements in these companies.

For the record, the MOU Signing between KTPC and PTSB focuses on areas of collaboration areas comprising:

  • Electrical and Electronics Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering (Automation Technologies)
  • Commerce and Marketing
  • Staff Industrial Attachment Programmes
  • Student Internship Programmes
