Kulim Technology Park Corporation (KTPC) successfully brought together 16 vendor companies including one each from Germany and Singapore yesterday at the first-ever Supply Chain and Cluster Development Seminar (SCCD). The SCCD was organised with the support of the Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA) and Kulim Industrial Tenants Association (KITA).
The first SCCD was aimed introducing current vendors in the Semicon Wafer Fabrication sector, who are serving 8 major manufacturing companies that include SilTerra, Infineon, Fuji Electric Semiconductor and Osram Semiconductor. Invited vendors were given the opportunity to present their company products, as well as, to meet the other companies that they have not served within the same sector.
With the second such seminar planned in the coming months, KTPC looks forward to expand the quality and quantity of attendance at SCCD seminar to include other sectors that fall within the high-value, hi-tech sectors promoted by KTPC for Kulim Hi-Tech Park as well as those in the Malaysian northern region.
On hand to welcome and brief the attending invitees at the SCCD seminar was Mr Muhamad Sobri Osman, the President of KTPC; Mr Jaspher Loo of NCIA and Mr Abdul Mukti Abu Bakar, the MIDA Director for Kedah and Perlis.
There were 2 presentation sessions from the vendor companies and both these sessions were ably chaired and moderated by Mr Annuar Mohd Saffar, KTPC’s VP for Industrial Development and Research; and assisted by Mr Haizad Harun of NCIA and Mr Idris Yusuf of KITA.
